What do *you* think?

After years of waiting (ok, so just a few days)…. and a run of bad luck on Michelle’s side (not her fault, stoopid DNS/Web host issues), I have a template design of what the site might look like 
So try these two links and feedback any constructive criticism:
Ok…
1. Like the rocket?
2. Hate the rocket?
3. Like the colours/layout/*feel*?
1. Like the photo?
2. Hate the photo?
3. Prefer if the photo was only in the two primary colours of the site as opposed to full colour (I know there’s a word for that!)?
4. (and linking back to option 1 as well) .. Do you prefer the ‘sciron.org’ title to be on the Left or Right hand side of the screen?
Overall, these are my thoughts so far:
- I like the photo but would like to see it just in the two primary colours of the site
- I want a horizontal links bar like here which I am asking for.
- I like the font and colours
- I love the clean cuts and simple lines. Focus is on the writing (oh crap..)
- The text boxes on the RHS of the page will contain only small parts of the info (ie about, links), with ‘more’ hyperlinks to take you to detailed screens.
- I prefer the ‘sciron.org’ title on the RHS of the screen (as per layout 2)

So quickly peoples… unleash the critic. Tell me what you think. What do you love and hate, what would you do differently?
Ed: There are quite a few ‘technical’ details (ie archiving links, categories, hyperlinking modules, recent comments) that I want setup specifically so i’m down with those
