Eve finished up our phone conversation tonight with the statement… “We are so different” …. and I can honestly admit it hit me pretty hard…. I mean I *know* that we’re different, hence the reason for our strong friendship, but this was coming off the ba k of an argument (if you can call it that) about ‘meeting people on the Internet’)
…. ed: My argument is that it’s no longer in the realm of geeks and losers anymore, and if you survey 10 people you know, i’m almost betting at least one (possibly two) of those people will have used one. Eve disagrees and says people who meet through online channels are ‘losers’ … public opinions anyone???
I don’t want to argue with Eve, it gives me bad vibes and I generally feel unpleasant whenever we end things (now matter how small) on bad terms. Not to say that i’m prepared to change my feelings or backdown, just that I don’t *like* to argue so much anymore. I’m much happier with the peaceful approach, the middle-of-the-road situations and all that entails……
