There was trifle after all….
So after moaning piteously about the fact that I wouldn’t be enjoying trifle on Saturday night, I received some firm words advice. Of course these words came from people far more mature than I am, and they were instructing me that not going was just “bullshit”, so I made an appearance. 
Well, actually I spent 4 hours helping to set up the gig and spent heaps of money on someone elses party. But when you don’t have a place big enough to do it yourself, this is a pretty good alternative.
The hosts grandfather showed up (one night stopover), and after quite a few beverages he was strumming on his guitar, duly informing us that “any music that doesn’t come out of Nashville just isn’t music”, which ended up being rather funny with half the attendees signing along to his Willie Nelson renditions
So Coronas were purchased (and consumed), fun was had by all and what could have been a disaster was averted due to a few strong words from the rest of the crew when any of the following topics were raised:
- Work
- Work
- People at Work
- Work
- People we don’t like from Work
and;
- Politics
All in all a really great night, and I now smell like uncleaned BBQ as I was helping to clean up in the morning. (Part and parcel of crashing at the hosts residence as you can’t drive home )
